Options for straight staircase standard

Railings, step surfaces, and handrails are available in different designs and are chosen by you based on the application and environment you want the stair for. We construct and manufacture customized staircases and platforms according to your demands.

A straight staircase can be placed both indoors and outdoors. Indoors a well-designed staircase can change the whole experience of the room since railing, surface treatment, and step surface can be designed according to your other interiors.

Steps

Step surface and platform surface for straight staircases are made of press welded grating, press locked grating, tear plate, or plain plate. Our steps side plates match pattern/sizes for Northern Europe's biggest manufacturer.

Press welded grating steps

The grating steps can be delivered in various step depths and widths, from 500 mm to 1500 mm. As stock article we have grating steps with 33x75 mm mesh width. Childsafe steps is delivered with a back and front kickplate on the step.

Tear plate

Step in tear plate where the step has a tear pattern which gives a moderate slip protection. Because of the pattern the step is easy to keep clean from water and dirt. Size for tears is 30x10 mm.

Railings

Eurostair railings are available in industry or child-safe designs as standard, in height of 1100 mm. All staircases are delivered galvanized EN1461 as standard but can also be delivered powder coated.

Industrial railing straight staircase

The height of the railing is 1100 mm. The railing is screwed to the stringer and platforms for assembly.

Child safe railing

The railing height is 1100 mm. Together with kickplates on the steps you get a child safe staircase with no horizontal or vertical openings bigger than 100 mm.

Inner handrail

Eurostair straight staircases can be equipped with an inner handrail. It is placed under the regular handrail to increase accessibility for example children. Surface treatment and choice of handrail are often determined by whether the staircase should be placed indoors or outdoors where it can be exposed to the weather.

Galvanized inner handrail

Handrail and inner handrail in galvanized finish. The inner handrail is placed under the regular handrail to increase the comfort of walking in the stair for children.

Powder coated inner handrail

Inner handrail in powder coated finish. To get the best corrosion protection we always work with a two-step process when powder coating. First a layer of zinc primer for a rust protection and also better surface finish and then we add a RAL powder coat.

Protective cages

If the straight staircase should be placed in an environment where you want to minimize unwanted traffic or if children are present, you can add a protective cage to prevent access to the staircase. For our straight staircases, there are two options. One cage that is assembled to the stringer and the other one is ground connected and detached from the staircase.

Cage on the stringer

Protective cage that prevent undesirable access to the staircase. The cage is attached to the stringer on the straight staircase.

Ground connected cage

A ground connected protective cage that is completely detached from the staircase. It can be connected to the facade or stand completely free and is constructed customized after wishes.

Stringers

Together with our engineers, we choose the type of stringer to the staircase based on what loading the staircase needs to manage. The staircase outreach, width, and angle are also of matter in the choice of the stringer. We make sure that the staircase follows Eurocodes and always delivers a 3D-drawing for you, which shows the design of the staircase in advance.

Flat steel stringer

A stringer made of flat steel is used on stairs with lower loads and shorter outreach.

U-beam stringer

A stringer in U-beam can handle higher loads than flat steel. The most common dimensions are UPE 140 and UPE 160.
