CE marking of products for the construction industry. What does it mean?
The CE marking tells you that the product is authorised to be sold/marketed in the EU market. It says nothing about quality. However, it defines a requirement of a harmonised standard that must be followed in order to use the CE marking. Normally, it is an EAD or harmonised standards such as EN1090 or EN 3834 that may be used as a reference for how the product is manufactured. The standards describe how the welding of the product must be part of a controlled process and be traceable. The requirements on load-bearing capacity are then defined in the Eurocodes.
